UCA Theatre to Present ‘United Differences’

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Department of Film, Theatre and Creative Writing will present “United Differences,” an expressive, experimental work at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, and Friday, Nov. 15, and at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Snow Fine Arts Center’s Black Box Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. The show is a devised piece by a student ensemble. UCA to Host Public Discussion About Homelessness in Conway

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Poverty Studies Working Group, in partnership with the Conway Homelessness Task Force, will host a public roundtable discussion on homelessness Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6-7:30 p.m. at UCA Downtown. Participants will have the opportunity to join a small group discussion to share their perspectives on homelessness and listen to the perspectives of others. Through facilitated conversation, participants will discuss ideas for alleviating homelessness and supporting individuals and families in need of housing. “This event is a great opportunity for citizens to listen, learn and provide actionable solutions regarding the experience of homelessness,” said …

UCA’s Baum Gallery to Host Fall Senior Art Show

CONWAY — The Baum Gallery at the University of Central Arkansas will host its Fall BFA/BA Senior Exhibit from Friday, Nov. 1, to Monday, Dec. 16. An opening reception for the event will be held Nov. 1 from 4-7 p.m. in the Baum Gallery, located in McCastlain Hall. The exhibition is a requirement for students graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art or a Bachelor of Arts in art. “This exhibition is the culmination of their art education at UCA. UCA Theatre To Present ‘Richard III’

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas will present William Shakespeare’s “Richard III” at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 7 and 8, and at 2 p.m. on Nov. 2 and 9 in the Bridges Larson Theatre in the Snow Fine Arts Center on the UCA campus. The production is based on the 1984 Royal Shakespeare Company production starring Anthony Sher, said Chris Fritzges, the play’s director and an associate professor of theatre at UCA. “That production,” Fritzges said, “was famous for Richard’s use of arm crutches that gave him a spider-like movement quality and an evil personality …
