Event followed by student performances, Third Coast Percussion CONWAY— The University of Central Arkansas will host a seal-breaking ceremony in celebration of the official opening of the new Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts. The event begins at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21. This is the first in a series of events celebrating the opening of the Windgate Center that will occur throughout the next 18 months. Also ends capital campaign, receives major gift CONWAY–The University of Central Arkansas made three transformative announcements at a special event hosted on Thursday, Sept. 7, in the newly-opened Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts Concert Hall. UCA’s Women’s Leadership Network hosts kickoff Announces nonprofit status
CONWAY, AR — The Women’s Leadership Network at the University of Central Arkansas hosted its annual kickoff celebration announcing the fall schedule. Dedicated to fostering and accelerating the leadership journey of women in central Arkansas, the WLN also announced that it has reached nonprofit status by becoming a 501(c)(3) organization. Established in 2017, WLN began as a conversation about how to support and engage women in the surrounding community. Jamie Ward, who believes early educators should engage with the families of their students and that the well-being of adults who care for young children is essential, will deliver the keynote speech at the Conway Kiwanis Bookcase Project’s annual banquet on October 26, 2023. CONWAY-The University of Central Arkansas will host New Orleans-based textile and beadwork artist Cherice Harrison-Nelson, as an artist-in-residence from Wednesday, Sept. 6, to Thursday, Sept. 7. Harrison-Nelson will hold a public film screening of “Keeper of the Flame” on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., in the Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts Concert Hall.
