Women’s Leadership Academy completes second cohort
CONWAY—The Women’s Leadership Academy at the University of Central Arkansas recently completed its second cohort with a graduation ceremony at the Willow Event Center in Conway. The Women’s Leadership Academy (WLA) is dedicated to empowering, enriching, and embracing women in our region, facilitating their leadership development. The academy is an initiative through the Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) at UCA. Fifteen women leaders completed the six-month academy. Artist Faye Hedera’s works focus on a selection of ‘difference makers’ in the community she now calls home CONWAY, Arkansas (July 14, 2023)—The Windgate Museum of Art at Hendrix College is proud to present the exclusive exhibition of “100 Faces of Conway,” a portrait project by local artist Faye Hedera. Graybeal earns two national recognitions for service-learning work
CONWAY — University of Central Arkansas Service-Learning Director Lesley Graybeal recently earned two national awards for the university’s work in service-learning. Graybeal received the John Saltmarsh Award for Emerging Leaders in Civic Engagement from the American Democracy Project in June. She also earned the Outstanding Practitioner Contributions to Service-Learning in Higher Education award at the Gulf-South Summit on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement through Higher Education held in April. Three organizations team up for Financial Literacy Workshops to improve credit score
Conway, AR – Arkansas Asset Builders, Regions Bank, and the Faulkner County Library are teaming up this summer to educate residents of central Arkansas about credit. The group will be offering a series of free workshops aimed at helping Arkansans understand the basics of credit, how to use credit effectively, and how to repair poor credit. The workshops will be held monthly at the Faulkner County Library, at 2pm on the second Saturday of each month: June 10, July 8, and August 12. Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre announces cast, directors, production dates for 2023 season
CONWAY, AR — The 2023 season of the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is set to open June 15 with a production of Shakespeare’s adventure-romance, “The Tempest” in the new Windgate Center for the Fine and Performing Arts on the University of Central Arkansas campus. The season also includes the madcap comedy, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” opening June 17, and the inaugural musical variety show, “Shakespeare Cabaret” opening June 22.
