Tawny Chatmon visits UCA as artist-in-residence

CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas will host photography-based artist Tawny Chatmon as an artist-in-residence from Tuesday, April 18, to Thursday, April 20. Chatmon will host an artist talk, along with Haitian visual artist Fabiola Jean-Louis, on Thursday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m., in the lecture hall of the Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts. Chatmon is one of eight African American artists featured in the 2022 Venice Biennale exhibit, “The Afro-Futurist Manifesto: Blackness Reimagined.” She is currently collaborating with Jean-Louis on “The Roots of Freedom” project. Conductor opens applications for the 7th iteration of their growth accelerator CONWAY, AR – In partnership with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Conductor today released the application for the 7th cohort of the 10X Growth Accelerator program. The 10X Growth Accelerator Program is a statewide 14-week intensive program designed specifically for Arkansas-based, tech or tech-enabled companies between $100,000 and $10 million in revenue. UCA earns $2.2 million grant from USDE

Partnering with local schools to address shortage in mental health professionals CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas has been awarded a $2.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to help address the shortage of mental health professionals in K-12 schools. The Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration grant funding will be used to train students in the school psychology graduate program in the UCA College of Health and Behavioral Sciences.
