Tananarive Due To Visit UCA As Artist In Residence

‘Latinos Unidos’ Comes To UCA For Hispanic Heritage Month

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas, The Latino Art Project and the Consul General of Mexico in Arkansas will present “Latinos Unidos,” an art exhibit displaying the works of Latino artists, Sept. 6 through Sept. 27 at UCA Downtown, located at 1105 W. Oak St. in downtown Conway. An opening reception will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at UCA Downtown. UCA’s Baum Gallery To Host Diverse Exhibition Of Three Artists This Fall

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas’s Baum Gallery will host “Cultural Ties: Sonya Clark, Joyce J. Scott and Helen Zughaib” from Aug. 29 through Oct. 11, with an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, at Baum Gallery. Clark, primarily known as a fiber artist, is a professor of art at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. Previously, she was a Distinguished Research Fellow in the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, where from 2006 until 2017, she served as chair of the Craft/Material Studies Department. UCA celebrates the legacy of artist Gene Hatfield CONWAY – The University of Central Arkansas’s Division of Outreach and Community Engagement will host the “Travelin’ Man” art exhibit at UCA Downtown, located at 1105 W. Oak St. in downtown Conway, through Aug. 30. An opening reception honoring artist Gene Hatfield will be held 5-7 p.m. Aug. 23 at UCA Downtown. Hatfield, who lived from 1925 to 2017, was a prolific artist, educator and decorated veteran who was also featured in AETN’s “Arkansas Men and Women of Distinction” documentary series. CONWAY — County music singer and songwriter Sara Evans will headline the 20th season of Reynolds Performance Hall, located on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, with a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.
