Gallery Grapevine, the new art gallery in Conway founded by Ray Oglesby and Sherita Herring, has announced a watercolors painting class led by Loris Giorgis.
According to the website,
Join Lois Giorgis, an award-winning artist, for the first painting class (Watercolor) at the NEW Gallery Grapevine.
Whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced, Lois can walk you step-by-step to produce a beautiful work of art (for any novice painter); or if experienced, she’s a master at teaching new techniques.
Herring told me in an email that Giorgis, 90 years young, is teaching her first painting class. A lifelong artist, Giorgis, according to an article at The Log Cabin a couple years ago, took up sculpting at 80. She has continued to add to her skills.
She has had her artwork displayed in various places across Conway including Art on the Green and has won multiple awards for her work. Giorgis is also a member of the Arkansas Arts Council.
The watercolor class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 – 4:00 pm from July 31st to August 16th at Gallery Grapevine, 740 S. Salem Road, Suite 100/101, Conway, AR 72034 (corner of Dave Ward & Salem in the same complex as Dominos).
The class costs $60 and is limited to 15 people.
Those interested should visit the Gallery Grapevine website to sign up.
