Conductor partners with Facebook to launch Career Connections” program in Arkansas.

CONWAY–Career Connections, a new Facebook initiative that connects emerging talent to training opportunities, local internships, and a network of professional mentors, is set to launch in Arkansas this spring. The Career Connections program will train Arkansas’ college students at a two-day Skills Summit, in which students will learn interview skills, how to master digital tools and more. The program will then match students with a business in central Arkansas for a paid summer internship. In addition to skills training and an internship opportunity, students will be directly paired with mentors working at Facebook who will provide guidance to the students throughout the internship. Facebook is currently looking for students to apply for the program.

Facebook has been collaborating with the Conductor, Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, Little Rock Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Economic Development Corporation to identify businesses to sign on as “Launch Partners” for the pilot program. The area businesses will be paired with Career Connections Fellows who have been trained by Facebook. Key benefits to area businesses include special recognition and incentives, such as $1,000 in Facebook + Instagram ad credits, access to exclusive trainings, and online recognition. Businesses will also receive an invitation to attend the Career Connections Launch Partner Kickoff Event, which will provide training on best practices and tools from Facebook to allow businesses to support the Fellows and run an all-star internship program.

The Skills Summit will be March 30-31, with Fellowship Interviews and Selection beginning in April. The Fellowship will run from May-August, 2019. Fellows will receive ongoing Facebook training, mentorship and check-ins throughout the course of the Fellowship.

Career Connections is accepting applications for Business Launch Partners until January 31. It is accepting applications from students until February 15.
