First spa of its kind in Faulkner County
CONWAY, AR – FloatSpa Conway hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Thursday, March 31, 2022. The morning event was put on in conjunction with the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce. The new business is located at 625 Salem Road, Suite #1 which is the former location of Papa Murhpy’s and is in the same center as Moe’s Southwest Grill.
“It has been such a joy starting up this business in Conway,” said Jennifer Smith, owner of FloatSpa Conway. “This facility will offer residents in Faulkner County and beyond a way to truly benefit from the effects of floatation therapy, cryotherapy, infrared sauna, and massage. It brings me great pleasure to know that we will be helping others be their best selves mentally, physically, and emotionally.”
FloatSpa Conway is the first spa in Faulkner County to offer both floatation therapy and cryotherapy. Flotation therapy, also known as float therapy or floating, is used for its mental, spiritual, meditative and physical benefits. Float tanks are filled with 1000 to 1200 pounds of medical grade epsom salt and create an environment that is void of sensory stimulation for the individual who is floating. An experience that provides a profound sense of relaxation and weightlessness with immediate healing qualities and rejuvenation for the body, mind, and soul.
The full body cryotherapy chamber gets down to -200° Fahrenheit. The reduction of blood flow can significantly reduce inflammation and swelling that causes pain, especially around a joint or a tendon. It can temporarily reduce nerve activity, which can also relieve pain. When the session is complete, the skin will return to its normal temperature within minutes. Individuals will likely feel relaxed and muscular pain generally begins to subside immediately after being in the cryotherapy chamber.
FloatSpa Conway also offers a variety of massage techniques including hydrotherapy massage, as well as an infrared sauna which according to the journal of the American Medical Association, regular use of a sauna boosts the cardiovascular system by producing sweat, pumping blood, and burning calories.
