Today’s Meet your Barista is Mikayla Nix from THINK Coffee at the Dave Ward location. Mikayla has been working with THINK for about two years and loves the Daydream drink.
I actually went down to see her on Saturday, which also happened to be her birthday, and I got that Daydream drink, and let me tell you, it did taste like an adult chocolate milk!
Mikayla is a person who has endured to overcome adversity, and she always has a smile on her face when you walk into THINK.
Today, we learn a little more about what is important to her and some things you may not know in this Meet your Barista.
Short Bio
I am the oldest of 5 children, and we are all very close. I think some would find it interesting to know that I have not had hair since I was 10, due to an autoimmune disorder Alopecia Universalis. While it was a long road to accepting myself and this condition, I feel that it has helped me to become who I am today.
I try to bring in a fun and bubbly attitude wherever I can, and when necessary, a little sass to lighten the mood! Most of the people I work with know me as one of humor and wit. I always look to do a good job with anything I do, but I also try to have some fun with it!

What is your favorite thing to do in Conway?
I love to go walk the different trails at the parks and on campus with my friends.

Reading

The people! I love getting to meet new faces and getting to know other people’s stories.

French Press

The Daydream…what I like to call adult chocolate milk ;D

Loving others
What do you appreciate the most in your friends?
They are there when I need them and are always down for a good time!
What is your idea of happiness?
Happiness is only temporary based on the situation, I prefer to focus on joy and finding joy even in the difficult situations.
If not yourself, who would you be?
I would be my cat, living the blissful and carefree life.
Where would you most like to live?
I would love to live in Colorado. I love the mountains, hiking, and skiing.
What is your ideal occupation?
I hope to one day be an Occupational Therapist working with children.
