Arkansas Asset Builders Brings Free IRS Assistance to Conway

Conway Institute of Music

Conway, ARโ€“Arkansas Asset Builders will present two events at the Faulkner County Library in the coming week that connect taxpayers directly to free IRS taxpayer assistance. The first event is an educational workshop, โ€œDealing with Tax Debt,โ€ at 2pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023. The second is an IRS Problem Solving Day, 9am-12pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in collaboration with the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service and UALR Bowen School of Law – Low Income Taxpayer Clinic.

Arkansas Asset Builders is pleased to bring IRS assistance directly to taxpayers in the Conway area for a second year in a row. This year, both events will feature Teresa Holland, IRS Taxpayer Advocate based in Little Rock, Arkansas. At the workshop on October 14, Holland will present information to the public about how to set up an IRS payment plan, request relief from IRS debt collection, and navigate the IRS Offer in Compromise process. This workshop will be especially helpful and relevant for any taxpayers who owe money to the IRS that they are currently unable to repay.

At the IRS Problem Solving Day on October 19, taxpayers can meet one-on-one with a representative from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS). This event provides an opportunity for taxpayers to receive free assistance with any unresolved tax issue. IRS services are available to all and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Everyone who attends will receive personalized, step-by-step guidance on how to move forward with resolving their tax issue. Additional free services from the UALR Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and Arkansas Asset Buildersโ€™ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will be available for those who qualify.

โ€œWhile the IRS has made substantial customer service improvements over the past year, many taxpayers still struggle to resolve errors on their tax account or respond to letters from the IRS. This is a fantastic opportunity for central Arkansas taxpayers with any kind of unresolved tax issue to receive direct assistance from the IRS,โ€ said Joyia Yorgey, Executive Director of Arkansas Asset Builders.
