The Faulkner County Library will host a Solar Eclipse event on Monday, August 21 at 11:30 am until 1 pm. The library suggests you bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy the event with the special glasses.
In a statement from the Faulkner County Library to Conway Scene,
We will also be live-streaming the eclipse indoors (projecting onto the vaulted ceiling), which is the safest way to watch if you don’t have the eclipse glasses. Bring a sack lunch, a lawn chair or a beach blanket and join the adventure.
According to NASA, the last time that the contiguous US experienced a total eclipse was 1979. NASA says about the eclipse,
On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Anyone within the path of totalitycan see one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights – a total solar eclipse. This path, where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun’s tenuous atmosphere – the corona – can be seen, will stretch from Lincoln Beach, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina. Observers outside this path will still see a partial solar eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun’s disk.
Although supplies of glasses are low at the library, an official explained that Crain will be giving aways glasses on Friday from 5-6 pm.
