About the Speakers
Nan Alexander Doyal is a critically acclaimed author and businesswoman. She has lived and worked in North America, Europe and Asia for more than 30 years, most recently as president of The International Forum, an organization that creates hands-on learning experiences for the leaders of global corporations.
For over a decade, she led this effort and its network worldwide, creating programs in Japan, China, India, Thailand, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Belgium and the United States. From the slums of Mumbai and the villages of Tibet and northeast Thailand to the inner cities of Philadelphia and San Francisco, and a ghetto outside Stockholm, she tells their stories and what she learned in her award winning book “Dig Where You Are: How One Person’s Effort Can Save a Life, Empower a Community and Create Meaningful Change in the World.”
Dr. Nicole McZeal Walters is the founding dean of the Associate of Applied Science Program at the University of St. Thomas in Houston. She also holds an appointment in the Educational Leadership Department, where she is an associate professor of Educational Leadership.

She is a former schoolteacher, specialist, and principal. Her academic work has been published in the Women, Gender, and Families of Color Journal, the International Journal of Educational Reform, Wisconsin English Journal, Gifted Child Today, School Leadership Review and others, and she has lectured widely at local, national, and international conferences and universities.
