Urban Society Salon

Urban Society Salon opens in Downtown Conway Friday

Conway Institute of Music

Urban Society Salon opens on Friday, August 31, at 1008 W. Oak Street in downtown Conway. Owners Ethan and Brianne Reed said they began thinking about the new salon in January.

Brianne Reed has always wanted a salon. Ethan Reed has always wanted to run a business. The two, husband and wife, decided to be partners in business with the opening of the new salon.

Brianne is a graduate of Paul Mitchell School in Little Rock and she’s a licensed instructor of cosmetology. She is bringing that experience and expertise to the new salon.

Ethan is a graduate of UCA’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship program. For the past year, he has been working for Quality Design Construction. The company is fitting the salon with custom cabinets.

The two began researching locations in late Spring before choosing the spot on Oak Street once occupied by Tinkled Pink.

The salon will have 12 chairs, of which 10 have been filled. Customers can make appointments via their online appointment portal and walk-ins are welcome.

According to the Reeds, they intend to offer a premium experience for their customers. Their focus is on using and selling high-end salon products such as Oribe Haircare Products. Urban Society is open to men, women, and kids of all ages, but know this isn’t your grandmother’s salon.

The inside of the salon took significant work to be ready, so the original opening date of August 25 was pushed back to August 31st.

Urban Society Salon also wishes to give back to the community. They envision helping residents of the Bethlehem House be interview ready for jobs by offering a cut and styling. They wish to expand that to other nonprofits in Conway as well.

Urban Salon Stylists

The Reeds have posted pictures and information about several of the stylists on their Facebook page with more to be announced very soon.
