UCA To Host Fall Senior Art Exhibit at Baum Gallery

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas will hold its fall senior art exhibit from Thursday, Nov. 3, to Friday, Dec. 2, at the Baum Gallery. The exhibit will showcase the work of seniors pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in art with an emphasis in fine art or art education or a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in studio art. Mike Durkin visits UCA as artist-in-residence

CONWAY— Multidisciplinary social practice performance artist Mike Durkin will be an artist-in-residence from Wednesday, Oct. 12 to Sunday, Nov. 13, at the University of Central Arkansas. Durkin’s residency includes an art pop-up exhibit, recipe slam, community meal, public workshop and story-sharing circle. UCA hosts workshop on cost of college

CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas Division of Outreach and Community Engagement will host “Know Before You Go: Financial Pathways to College” on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 6–7:15 p.m. This personal enrichment class is designed to help parents and prospective students learn the real costs of a college education. Holding steady at the city with the most roundabouts in Arkansas, 32 to be exact, the question remains, why does Conway have so many roundabouts? Two Conway Organizations Win IRS Grant Funding To Support Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Conway, AR – Arkansas Asset Builders and United Way of Central Arkansas were both recently awarded grant funding from the Internal Revenue Service to support free tax return preparation through their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs. Both organizations will offer free tax help to qualifying residents of Faulkner County and surrounding communities during the spring tax season, from late January through April 15, 2023. A total of $30 million was granted by the IRS to 309 organizations providing VITA services across the country. Drew Lanham, will read and discuss his work on Wednesday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Reves Recital Hall on Hendrix College campus. UCA library digitizes more than 1,000 photos

CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas Archives has recently digitized more than 1,000 historical photographs. The collection includes buildings, social activities and student life dating back to the school’s beginning in 1907 and can be accessed here. The Archives has been collecting images since 1986 and is constantly acquiring more photos to digitize. The process has taken several months and interim archivist Daniel Klotz says this is just a start. “Our goal is to make the collections more accessible,” Klotz said. “With this project, anyone can find a photograph by typing in keywords.
