CONWAY— The University of Central Arkansas will host Russian American violinist Alexander Markov as artist-in-residence from Thursday, Oct. 27, to Sunday, Oct. 30. Markov will perform alongside students in UCA’s Department of Music at the Conway Symphony Orchestra’s Power, Mystery and Fate concert on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Performance Hall. UCA students can attend for free with their UCA ID. UCA To Host Fall Senior Art Exhibit at Baum Gallery

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas will hold its fall senior art exhibit from Thursday, Nov. 3, to Friday, Dec. 2, at the Baum Gallery. The exhibit will showcase the work of seniors pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in art with an emphasis in fine art or art education or a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in studio art. Mike Durkin visits UCA as artist-in-residence

CONWAY— Multidisciplinary social practice performance artist Mike Durkin will be an artist-in-residence from Wednesday, Oct. 12 to Sunday, Nov. 13, at the University of Central Arkansas. Durkin’s residency includes an art pop-up exhibit, recipe slam, community meal, public workshop and story-sharing circle. You’ve probably thought something similar, whether you’re a Conway resident or just a traveler passing through. Holding steady at the city with the most roundabouts in Arkansas, 32 to be exact, the question remains, why does Conway have so many roundabouts? The City of Conway Director of Transportation, Kurt Jones, says the answer is simple: roundabouts are safer, more effective, and more cost efficient than the normal traffic light intersections.
