Windgate Museum of Art’s Film Screening Mudbound
November 10, 2021 @ 7:00 pm

Set in rural Mississippi during the aftermath of WWII, Mudbound portrays two families adapting to life after war. Each family attempts to nurture a bond despite the intense racial segregation that permeates American society. This pertinent historical picture, based on Hillary Jordan’s award-winning 2008 novel by the same name, offers a unique and memorable perspective on the Jim Crow South. This film was directed by Dee Rees (2017). This film screening is part of the Cinema and the Changing American South series, in conjunction with Southbound: Photographs of and about the New South. There will be a panel discussion following the film. Masks required and limited capacity. Reserve your seat by e-mail to windgatemuseum@hendrix.edu.
