The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) Arkansas Geriatric Education Collaborative (AGEC) and Hendrix College are collaborating to present the program “Understanding Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease” on Wednesday, March 29 at 11 a.m.
The program will be held in person at Hendrix College’s Worsham Hall, located in the Student Life & Technology Center (building 2 on the campus map), near the intersection of Winfield and Harkrider streets in Conway. Visitor parking will be available at the nearby Dawkins Welcome Center (building 1). A remote attendance option will be available via Zoom; visit agec.uams.edu/community-events for that link.
The program is organized and supported by AGEC and Hendrix College. AGEC uses these education sessions to provide social support, activities and conversation for older adults and caregivers. Hendrix students collaborate with AGEC on various projects, experiences and internships focused on older adults as well.
The Arkansas Geriatric Education Collaborative is funded by a Health Resources and Services Administration grant of $3.7 million for a Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program.
