How long has your business been in operation?
I am in my fifth year as a realtor, but ERA Real Estate was started in 1972!
What have been some of your biggest challenges and how did you overcome those?
After being a stay-at-home mom to our four kiddos, getting back into the workforce was daunting. I’d poured my heart and soul into our family and everything going on within the four walls of our home, stepping into a whole new career was scary, but exciting.
Being a Realtor has the perception of just looking at beautiful homes all the time, and while we do get that perk, there is so much more! Once you pass the tests and get your license, you’re only just beginning to learn the business. I have had an amazing team to help me, Mark Tidwell mentored me, trained me, showed me the ropes, walked me through so many different scenarios that have come up.
No two deals are the same and there are always opportunities to learn something new. I remember how nervous I was, how I didn’t know how it would all come together, but being a Realtor is absolutely where I am meant to be.
Who has been your biggest supporter(s) for your business?
My family has been my biggest supporters, they are always cheering me on. We tag team all the time between myself, my husband, my mom, and my oldest son, Austin, to get everyone where they need to be or to help at the house when I need to head out to do realtor business.
My other biggest supporters have been the team at ERA TEAM Real Estate. Team is not just in the name, they are my mentors, my extended family. We support one another, not only in business but in life.
We learn and grow together, celebrate our wins and commiserate our losses, and most importantly have fun together. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work alongside in this wild business.
What are you looking forward to in the next few years in business?
I am looking forward to watching how the market ebbs and flows following this unprecedented year, and I’m excited to continue growing my real estate business through serving others and giving back to our community.
I’m also interested to see how Conway continues to grow and develop as well as our surrounding cities. Most of all, I’m looking forward to helping clients along their real estate journey, wherever that may be for them!
