Get your Hawaiian shirts ready for Children’s Advocacy Alliance’s second Cody Sublett Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, May 23 from noon to 5 p.m. at 1600 Centennial Club Dr (note: change made by the tournament May 18, 2022). There will be one golf flight that will start at 1:00 p.m. with lunch at 12:00 p.m.
Register your team of 4 on the Children’s Advocacy Alliance website to pick which flight you would like to participate in. Every participant will receive a swag bag, lunch and a chance to win prizes. There will also be prizes for the craziest dressed team.
Cody Sublett was an Army veteran, carpenter at The Cadron Creek Craftsman and the unofficial selfie king of Conway. Cody served as a board member advocating for CAA and making sure that every kid got the services they needed from 2018 until his passing in 2020.
“Cody Sublett was a board member with our organization and one of the most unique individuals I’ve ever met,” said Tess Fletcher, Executive Director for CAA. “He was quirky, had an interesting sense of humor and had the most uncanny ability to know when I needed support. I would randomly get texts from him, asking how he could pray for me. When I told him, I immediately got a text back with a prayer. Cody was the kind of support that I never realized I needed until he was gone. I’m grateful to have current board members that are as supportive. I hope our community will support and participate in this tournament and honor Cody’s legacy and his passion for our mission.”
The Children’s Advocacy Alliance is an independent nonprofit serving Faulkner, Van Buren, Searcy, Perry and Conway counties that was originally founded in 2000 as CASA of the 20th Judicial District. Children’s Advocacy Alliance oversees both the Central Arkansas Children’s Advocacy Center and the Central Arkansas CASA. The two programs work together to provide coordinated guidance, treatment and support for child victims of abuse and neglect, from the initial investigation of abuse to their placement in a safe, permanent home.
CAA has lost revenue during the Covid-19 pandemic but has almost doubled the number of kids they have been seeing since July 2020. All proceeds will contribute towards CAA’s goal of providing hope, healing, and a voice for justice for abused and neglected children in our community. The organization is able to do so through support of its golf tournament, festivals, and participation in its Seed for Hope and Community Partners Programs.
CAA thanks Centennial Bank for the continued partnership from the golf tournament, to providing CAA with necessary interview equipment for daily operations and support for their other festivals.
Please visit the CAA website and see the Get Involved tab for other fundraiser, donation, or volunteer opportunities. Any support can make a difference in providing a voice for a child in need, whether it be a one-time donation, a monthly donation, or volunteer work.
