Faye Hedera’s ‘100 Faces of Conway Project’ has been highly anticipated and is finally here. This collection features one hundred portraits of individuals from Conway, Arkansas who have their own unique stories to tell.
Through this exhibition, viewers can gain insight into the lives of those living in central Arkansas, as each portrait captures a snapshot of the current population.
Hedera said in an earlier article at Conway Scene,
The project was originally just me taking a step outside of my comfort zone and getting to know Conway, but as itโs developing, itโs turning into a surprising act of love toward perfect strangers. At the end of the day I know that the time Iโm investing into the project will be re-invested into not only the people Iโm painting, but the girls at Haven Conway as well.
Educators, artists, city leaders and more extraordinary people were nominated by their community to be featured in this month-long show that will showcase these powerful stories and heartfelt expressions through original painted portraits.
She explained that she left the nominations up to those who know Conway best,
Since Iโm new here and know next to nobody, it was important for me to allow other people to determine who is making a positive impact here. Most of the people are nominated multiple times, so that informs me that their engagement is far-reaching, even if they themselves donโt realize it.
