Spring Cleaning for Conway residents this weekend

Conway Institute of Music

April 21st and 22nd is the annual Conway Spring Clean up, brought to you by the City of Conway Sanitation Department.

The days are getting warmer and longer, and if you’re anything like me spring cleaning fever has hit!  For me, as a mom, this means purging toys and too small clothes as well as cleaning up the yard and around the house.  For you, it could even include taking advantage of some sales and making appliance and furniture updates!  If you have large items you are needing to trash or electronics that you no longer need, you are in luck!

April 21st and 22nd is the annual Conway Spring Clean up, brought to you by the City of Conway Sanitation Department.  With a copy of your Conway Corp. bill, you can drop off toys, stoves, mattresses, washers and dryers, furniture, refrigerators, freezers, and regular household waste.

The following items will not be accepted due to environmental regulations:  tires, paint, liquids, motor oil, yard waste, anti-freeze, car batteries, fluorescent bulbs, electronic equipment, Herbicides, pesticides, and household hazardous waste.

Please note, the event is closed to commercial businesses and cannot accept construction debris.  Bring your Conway Corp bill, your approved items and drop them off at the following locations from 10 am to 6 pm each day!

  • Second Baptist Church, 2600 Dave Ward Dr, Conway, AR 72034
  • Siebenmorgan/Hamilton Street,1440 Hamilton Street, Conway, AR 72032
  • Covington Commercial Complex, 707 Robins Street, Conway, AR 72034
  • Woodland Heights Baptist Church, 4215 Prince Street, Conway, AR 72034

If you find yourself in need of recycling electronic items, the Electronic Waste Recycling Drive sponsored by Faulkner County Solid Waste Management District and City of Conway Sanitation Department is for you!

Electronic waste recycling operates a bit differently, for starters it’s open to all Faulkner County residents just bring a photo ID.

Items that can be dropped off include computers, TVs, DVDs, VCRs, hard drives, printers, basically anything with a computerized chip.  Businesses can drop off their items on Friday, April 21st and residents can on Saturday, April 22nd. Drop off is from 8am-Noon at the City of Conway Sanitation Department, located at 4550 Highway 64 West, Conway, AR 72034.

Whew, that’s a lot of information, but this is a great excuse to get to cleaning!  For more information or questions, please visit www.conwaysanitation.org.
